These phones are a lot better than ordinary ones but not perfect. Noise cancelling on a plane is very good for low frequencies but less impressive for engine whine. The other two “cons” are that they become uncomfortably hot and tight after an hour or so, and that when the NC is switched on the volume increases a good 10 db, which on some airplene sound systems means that they will be a little too loud even at the lowest armrest volume setting. The sound quality is excellent though.

  2. J. Hobbs says:

These $100 headphones busted after a year of gentle use. As the warranty is a paltry 90 days, a series of hard-to-understand phone support technicians were unsympathetic. They suggested I buy a new one.

I suggest that I will never buy another Panasonic product again, and I encourage you to do the same!

  3. That Was Cool. says:

I purchased this product primarily to block noise from a neighbour such as barking dogs, screaming mother at children, domestic disputes, and the like.

The sound blocking at least for the sounds I didn’t want to hear was great.

They are comfortable enough to go to sleep with them on.

The sound reproduction, IMO, was also extremely good.

I have had no problem with them at all.

    The battery life is okay.

I purchased these 2 years ago and have flown with them at least 20 times. For sitting on an aircraft (which they are designed for) I couldn’t ask for anything better. I suppose if you use them actively, the life span will shorten but these were made for flying and I will not part with them.

  5. Too Tall says:

These headphones were purchased specifically for airline use. I can barely hear anything with the airline equipment, even at full volume. I bought a Bose set for my wife and she likes those a lot. I have used the Bose for a few minutes and I was impressed, but wanted to try a less expensive pair. These are just a good at a much better price. I am not an audiophile, but the difference between the Panasonic and the Bose is very slight, if any. They are comfortable and allow you to hear the airline equipment much better than the cheap headphones they pass out for free. The carrying case is compact and well designed to allow a compact travel package which will not get crushed.
